Here for a few nights
The practical part, so the night goes the way it should.
Before you go out in Shanghai
I'm in Shanghai for three nights. Where do I go?
Start with Tonight — it's already sorted by what's open and free. Each night has one or two places worth being, and the club page tells you the window, the line-up and what the door is giving away. Pick, copy the address, go.
How does free entry actually work?
Some nights the club waives the cover for people who arrive inside a set window. Say GL2NITE at the door in that window and you're in without a ticket — no sign-up, first come first served. Whatever the night is giving away, welcome shots or a drinks deal, comes with it.
Do I need to be on a list or book anything?
Not for entry. The code is the list. If you want a table — your own spot, your own server, straight past the door — that's the one thing to book, and we hold it under your name.
How do tables work?
Tell us the club, the night and how many you are. We confirm the table and its minimum spend; a deposit holds it. On the night you order drinks up to the minimum and the deposit comes back the next day.
What are ticketed events?
Private and special nights we or our partner promoters put on. They have a fixed number of tickets, sold here with Alipay, WeChat Pay or a card. Your ticket is a QR code on your phone; no refunds unless the event is cancelled, in which case you are refunded in full automatically.
Do I need Chinese?
No. Doors and bars are used to visitors. For taxis, use the copy-address button on each club page and show the driver the Chinese line.
What should I bring?
Passport, a phone with WeChat Pay or Alipay set up (both take foreign cards), and something smart-casual. No sportswear or flip-flops.
How current is this?
Every status comes straight from the clubs and their promoters and is checked daily. The stamp at the top says when the last change was made.
About Guestlist Shanghai
Guestlist Shanghai is the nightly guide for people who are in Shanghai for a few nights and want them to count. We take the door deals directly from the clubs and their promoters, mark every venue free, cover or closed for each night, give you the code that gets you in without a ticket, hold tables at the same clubs, and sell tickets to a small number of private nights.
Say GL2NITE at the door. #GuestlistShanghai once you're in.
For clubs and promoters
Listing is free. Send your weekly schedule, table prices and drinks menu and your club gets its own pages — flyers, video, map and reservable tables. Running a private night? We sell the tickets and pay you out after the event. hello@guestlistshanghai.com
